The Great British Spirits Box initiative, delivered by Business West and supported by the Department for International Trade (DIT), makes it easier for international alcohol buyers to sample the very best of British. No more costly business trips to your target markets; get your spirits delivered for free to the offices of trusted buyers that have a genuine interest in your brand.
The DIT has assisted £33m worth of UK spirits exports in the last 12 months and the Great British Food Programme’s mission is to make it easier for trusted international buyers to connect with quality UK producers.
How the Spirits Box works
Step 1: For products to have a chance of being included in a Spirits Box (all samples must be 5cl/50ml bottles), producers will need to sign-up to our online directory and select ‘Great British Spirits Box’ in the ‘Initiative’ section. If you're already a member of the directory login to your profile and select the 'Join this initiative' button a bit further down the page.
Step 2: International buyers and distributors will use the ‘Great British Spirits Box’ filter when browsing the directory for potential brands, selecting up to 24 samples to include in their personalised spirits box.
Step 3: Once a company has been selected by an international buyer or distributor, a member of our team contacts them to arrange delivery of their product samples to our headquarters as this is where we prepare the boxes to be shipped.
Step 4: Once the buyer has received their Great British Spirits Box we coordinate a follow-up sales call for between the buyer and producer to discuss the product samples and the market potential in more detail; saving both parties significant time and money compared to traditional sales channels.
