Participate in a UK Seafood mission in the UAE

Invitation for Expression of Interest

As Part of the £1m Seafood Exports Package, The Department for International Trade in partnership with The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, GREAT and the Great British Food Programme will be hosting a showcase and reception in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for seafood producers looking to enter the market.

Why UAE?

The UAE is heavily reliant on food imports - 80% of all food is imported. The growth in the food service market in the UAE is driving growth in imported seafood. The UAE has one of the highest levels of seafood consumption per capita in the world, so it is a huge market. In 2020, the UK exported £8.5m of seafood to the UAE. The mission will present opportunities for imported seafood, with potential growth for a wide range of fish and shellfish species. Salmon, whitefish and mackerel, are currently the top 3 imported seafood species.
