About company

The Alvis Family are 3rd generation farmers and cheesemakers who have been farming their land in Somerset for over 100 years. They first began hand crafting cheese in 1952 and started producing Organic cheese in 1992. Lye Cross Farm cheese is produced using the traditional technique of Cheddaring, where the curds are turned and stacked by hand to allow the unique texture and flavour of Cheddar cheese to develop.
